Thursday 3/27 saw the start of the spring sports season, though it felt more like the middle of January.. The Softball team opened with 2 losses to Southeast of Saline, 6-9, 1-16. I watched the first game, and I know it was cold, but there's some talent there. Jess Wollenburg didn't pitch bad at all, considering she had 4 layers of clothes on. Chelsea Freed was solid at short stop, and a 5 run 7th inning shows that the girls have some fight.
The track teams also took to competition, and let me tell you, it wasn't any warmer at the HS than the softball field. Despite a pretty good north wind and windchills in the 30's, the Buffs brought home a few medals. And while this isn't the biggest meet they'll go to all year, it's good to get some competition under your belt and get into the rythm of the season.
I got a few pictures taken at the game and track meet. You can find them at our photo album online. As always, if you've got a good picture, send it to me at krepsports@hotmail.com.

Crazy cold weather on the first day of spring sports- The Lady Buffs have what it takes to pkay with anyone- figuring it out for themselves is the tough part. I think any of our girls have the ability to play at the next level if they want to.
