Lady Buffs softball @ Regionals

The Lady Buffs defeated Minneapolis 17-5 in the first round of Regionals!

Darsha Bechard was in the circle for the Lady buffs and did well with 9 K and 5 BB. The Lady buffs defense was solid with only 3 errors on the night. The night came be summed up by saying we came to hit tonight and hit we did. We had 15 hits on the game and that is awesome for this team. Minneapolis had beaten us twice during the regular season but tonight it was all about hitting the ball and running the bases well. I said it the other day to a group of people- for me this was an easy game to get ready for because if you cant get excited to play a league team that has beaten you twice then you must be dead. We know if we played well that we could play with Minneapolis the number 2 seed in regional but to handle them like we did felt good. We had 5 players hit over 500 on the night. A good group effort from the plate allowed us to relax a bit on defense.

We play Riley County Tuesday- they are a very good ball team that we were eliminated last year from regional by and we hope to come out and play them well. They are defending regional champs and knocked of Rock Creek which is very solid ball team. Beloit and Marysville round out the top of the bracket and winners from both games will face off for a birth to state tournament.
