The Knights of Columbus State Free Throw Championship was held in
Salina,
Kansas on Sunday, March 4, 2012 at Sacred Heart Jr/Sr High School Gym.
The
State Contest was hosted by three Salina Knights of Columbus Councils
#601,
#8196, and #10778 and was under direction of Rod Hoffman of Lenexa,
State Youth
Activities Director. The winners’ scores will be sent to the Knights of
Columbus Supreme Office in New Haven, Connecticut to be entered in the
International Contest. Tyler Popelka, Cuba, KS, son of Robert and
Lesley
Popelka won his division shooting 24 out of 25. Zachary Sorell of
Clyde,
Kansas takes 3rd shooting 21 out of 25, and Austin Biery of Clyde,
Kansas takes
2nd shooting 23 out of 25. Congratulations to these boys from our
area!
